Laser Liposuction Prices Explained

Discussing Laser Liposuction Prices

Laser liposuction offers several improvements to traditional liposuction techniques. This is especially true in terms of the risks and severity of side effects. But one area that might be harder to pin point the difference is in the final cost of the procedure. When it comes to liposuction prices there are several factors that influence the final bill. This is also true of laser liposuction surgeries as well. To understand how the two are different we look at the major components of a bill. This consists of the three types of fees that make up liposuction prices.

The first component is the surgeon fee. This is what the plastic surgeon will charge for his or her time and effort. Usually it is based on the qualifications and popularity of the surgeon relative to other plastic surgeons in his general area. A surgeon with more experience and a history of excellence will generally charge more than a surgeon who lacks the same certifications or references. Since laser liposuction is a relatively new procedure, there are surgeons who have not been trained and certified to perform the treatment which will cause a disparity in prices.

Another component of liposuction prices is the anesthesia fee. This is the cost of the drug used to numb or sedate the patient. In traditional liposuction, the patient is fully sedated so a board certified anesthesiologist is required to be present for the administration of the drug. A lazer lipo patient only requires local anesthesia so in the reduced dosage there is significant financial savings.

The final charge is the facility fee which encompasses everything from equipment to the surgery room. This will often be more expensive with newer techniques like laser liposuction because it requires the clinic to purchase a new machine which it will want to recover the cost by passing it on to their clients. In the end, however, the cost of liposuction is usually lower just because the scale of the surgery is smaller making it faster and more effective.
