Liposuction Price List

- Or -

A lot of people who would jump at the chance to get liposuction never get past the first step, which is just finding a liposuction price list so they can get a good idea of the total cost that will be involved. This is especially insurance because if you’re woondering “does insurance cover liposuction?” unfortunately the answer is no.

The truth of the matter is that liposuction prices vary from city to city, doctor to doctor, and patient to patient. A doctor’s skill level, as well as frequency and availability will affect the price. The number of areas on which the procedure is performed affects the price, as does the size of the patient. However, there is a fairly standard range one can expect a quote to fall between. This range is approximately $1500 – $7500.

Typically there is a small fee for the first visit, a consultation with the doctor to discuss options and desired results. This consultation fee runs between $50 and $100, and is generally factored into the final cost. Some doctors will charge a flat rate based on the number of areas on the body. For example, some doctors will charge $2000 – $3000 for the first area done and $500 – $1500 for each additional area after that. Other doctors have set rates based on the area itself. For example, one can expect to pay anywhere from $3000 to $7000 for liposuction performed on the breasts, depending on how large they are and how small they are reduced.

In addition to all of this, there are factors that many do not realize or consider when pricing their liposuction procedures. Operating room fees, anesthesia, the cost of any lab work that needs to be done before or after, and whatever recovery garments are necessary. Some doctors will factor these costs into their flat rates. Some have in house operating suites and on staff anesthesiologists, which cut down costs.

It is best to check references for multiple doctors to gauge level of skill versus price paid before booking a consultation, and always ask what is included in the liposuction price. A lot of people have trouble discussing money with doctors, and it can be very intimdating. But you have to go ahead and ask: “How much is liposuction?” It’s always best to not skimp with your health and finding the right doctor can make this experience so much better!
